Consider the length $=\mathit{x}$,
breadth $=2\mathit{x}$ and
height $=3\mathit{x}$
∴ Volume of the cuboid = length × breadth × height
$=\mathit{x}\times 2\mathit{x}\times 3\mathit{x}=6{\mathit{x}}^3$
According to the question,
New, length $=2\mathit{x},$
breadth $=4\mathit{x}$ and
height $=6\mathit{x}$
∴ New volume $=2\mathit{x}\times 4\mathit{x}\times 6\mathit{x}=48{\mathit{x}}^3$
$\therefore$ Increase in volume $=\frac{48{\mathit{x}}^3-6{\mathit{x}}^3}{6{\mathit{x}}^3}$ =7 times
