Let the three consecutive odd numbers be $\prime \mathit{x}-2\prime ,\prime \mathit{x}\prime$ and $\prime \mathit{x}+2\prime$
Given the sum of three consecutive odd numbers is 20 more than the first number
$\Rightarrow \mathit{x}-2+\mathit{x}+\mathit{x}+2=20+\mathit{x}-2$
$\Rightarrow 2\mathit{x}=18$
$\mathit{x}=9$
Therefore the three consecutive odd numbers are 7,9 and 11.
The middle number is 9.
