${\mathit{x}}^3+2{\mathit{x}}^2$ + bx + 68 = 0⇒ ${\left(-4\right)}^3+2{\left(-4\right)}^2$ + b(- 4) + 68 = 0 ⇒ - 64 + 32- 4b + 68= 0 ⇒ - 4b = -36
∴ b = 9
