Solution:

(a) 3x = 8y
Then ,

x/y = 8/3\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;.......(i)

and 5y = 9z
⇒

z/y = 5/9\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;.......(ii)

From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get

{x/y}/{z/y}={8/3}/{5/9}

⇒

x/z = 72/15
