The current pattern of human consumption of resources, in which we rely on non-renewable resources, e.g., metal ore, must eventually change. We cannot rely too much on our shrinking non-renewable resources. There is every possibility of getting these resources exhausted in the near future. Since, there is only so much metal ore available, ultimately we must either do without or turn to renewable resources to take its place.
