Solution:

a + 2d = 600 .....(i)
a + 6d = 700 .....(ii)
Subtracting equation (i) from (ii) we get,
4d = 100
d = 25
a + 2(25) = 600
a = 550
Total production in 7 years

(2a + (n - 1) d)
=

7/2

(2 × 550 + (7 - 1) 25)
=

7/2

(1100 + 150)
=

7/2

(1250)
= 4,357 units
