For a compound to be optically active it must be (i) Chiral and non-superimposable on its mirror image. The molecules which are not superimposable on their mirror images are called chiral molecules. Chiral molecule has a carbon atom linked to four different groups and this carbon atom is called as chiral carbon atom. Among all the alkynes having five membered chain one is optically active.
