Let the bowlers be represented by ${\mathit{B}}_1,{\mathit{B}}_2,{\mathit{B}}_{3.}.....{\mathit{B}}_{\mathit{n}}.$
If a particular bowler B, (say) did not bowl in pair with two other bowlers, ${\mathit{B}}_2$ and ${\mathit{B}}_3$ (say), then ${\mathit{B}}_2$ and ${\mathit{B}}_3$ also did not bowl in pair with every bowler in the team. Therefore, at least three bowlers must not have bowled in pair with every other bowler in the team.Hence, the maximum number of bowlers who could have bowled in pair with every other bowler in the team is n - 3.
