Solution:

Let

4x + 3y = 14k

, then

xy = 2k

and

y - 6x = k

.
On solving the first and the third equations, we get

x=k/2 \and y= 4k

⇒ xy = 2k^2

∴ \;{2x}/{y}={2×\;{k}/{2}}/{4k}={1}/{4}
