In association of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi with roots of higher plant like (gymnosperm (Pinus) the fungal hyphae derive food and shelter from the higher plants, while hyphae of fungus acts as root hair and increase the absorption of essential nutrient with water from the soil.It is a positive interaction between fungal hyphae and roots of Pinus in which both the partner are benefitted, and is termed as symbiosis (mutualism).
