The length of the longest pole that can be placed in a room is the diagonal of that room

=√{(\;\text " length "\;)^{2}+(\;\text " width "\;)^{2}+(\;\text " Height "\;)^{2}}

= \; √{(12)^{2}+(9)^{2}+(8)^{2}}=√{144+81+64}
