Soap removes grease by the process of adsorption. When soap is added to water it remove grease, the hydrophilic molecules stay in water whereas the hydrophobic molecules join the oil particles. The oil particles become suspended in water and disperse in water. The oil particles are removed by the soap molecules through forming micelles with oil particles.
