The Faraizi movement was founded in 1819 in East Bengal by Haji Shariatullah to give up un-Islamic practices and act upon their duties as Muslims (fard). This movement protected the rights of tenants. The movement got a great leadership of Dadumiya son of Haji Shariatullah.
