The Jallianwala Bagh massacre at Amritsar took place on 13 April 1919 , when Acting Brigadier-General Dyer ordered the troops of the British Indian Army to fire into a crowd of unarmed Indian civilians gathered in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, Punjab. It resulted into killing of at least 600 people and over 1,000 were injured.
