There are three candidates- A, B and C appearing for an interview. Only one has to be selected. The chances of A, B and C getting selected are 1/10, 1/8 and 1/6 respectively
Formula used:
Probability that C is not selected = 1 – (probability that C is selected)
Calculation:
Probability that C is selected = P(A is not selected) × P(B is not selected) × P(C is selected)
⇒ 9/10 × 7/8 × 1/6 = 21/160
Probability that C is not selected = 1 – (21/160) = 139/160
∴ required probability = 139/160
