If the H.C.F. of two numbers (each greater that 13 ) be 13 and L.C.M. 273 , then the sum of the numbers will be

Solution:

Let the numbers are

13 a

and

3 b .

Then,

13 a × 13 b=13 × 273, a b=21

∴

These numbers are

(13 × 3)

and

(13 × 7)

or 39 and

91 .

Their sum

=39+91

=130
