The length and breadth of a rectangle are in the ratio 7:5 and its area is 3500 sq.cm. What is the perimeter of the rectangle, in cm?

Solution:

Let the length and breadth of the rectangle be 7a cm and 5a cm respectively.
Given,

7a×5a = 3500 ⇒ a = 10

The perimeter of the rectangle

= 2 ×12×10 = 240

cm.
