The value of the digit ‘a' in the number 43a4567 such that it is divisible by 11 is

Solution:

For a number to be divisible by 11, the difference between the sum of alternate digits should be either zero or multiple of 11

(4+a+5+7)–(3+4+6)

=16+a–13=3+a

3+a=11

∴a=8
