Solution:

Given :

p(A∪B)=0.6

and

p(A∩B)=0.2

We have,

p(A∪B)=p(A)+p(B)–p(A∩B)

⇒p(A∪B)=1–p(\ov{A})+1–p(\ov{B})–p(A∩B)

⇒p(\ov{A})+p(\ov{B})=2–p(A∪B)–p(A∩B)

=2–0.6–0.2=1.2
