Arranging in descending order we have

a,a/2,a/3,a/4,a/5

Median

=a/3=8

∴a=24

24/5=4.8

Therefore, the observations are 24, 12, 8, 6, 4.8
∴ Mean

={24+12+8+6+4.8}/5={54.8}/5=10.96
