26 min 25 sec$=26+\frac{25}{60}$min $=\frac{317}{12}$min.
Angle moved by minute-hand in 1 minute = 6°
∴ Angle moved by minute - hand in $\frac{317}{12}$minutes $=\frac{317}{12}\times 6°=158.5°$
Similarly, angle moved by seconds-hand in 25 seconds $=25\times 6°=150°$
∴ The angle between the minute-hand and the seconds-hand $=158.5°\mathit{–}150°$
$=8.5°$

Using direct formula,
$\mathit{\theta }=|6\mathit{m}-\frac{59}{10}\mathit{s}|$
$\therefore \mathit{\theta }=|6\times 26-\frac{59}{10}\times 25|$
$=|156\mathit{–}147.5|=8.5°$
