The product of two integers a and b is 270. What is the LCM of a and b ?
I. The GCD of a and b is 9.
II. a and b are divisible by 3.

Solution:

Given: a × b =270
We know that,
LCM × HCF = Product of two numbers.
I Given: GCD of ‘a’ and ‘b’ is 9.
∴ We can find LCM

=\text "product of numbers"/\text "GCD"

NOTE : There appears to be some error in the given data.
Given: GCD = 9
∴ we can write ‘a’and ‘b’ as 9x and 9y
Product:

(9x)(9y)=81xy

But the given product 270 is not divisible by 81.
