The body moves at a steady speed, which means its speed does not change. This only happens if the total (net) force on the body is zero.
So,

Work and Energy:
Because the body's speed is not changing, its kinetic energy also stays the same. The workenergy theorem tells us that the total work done on the body is equal to the change in its kinetic energy.
