Greases i.e. lubricant are generally prepared from silicones. Silicone greases are generally thickened with silica. It is silicone oil based with inert filters silicones is a polymer that includes silicon in its monomeric molecule. Silicon implants are inert and resist tissue in growth instead they become surrounded by a fibrous capsule. Zeolites are extremely useful as a catalyst for several important reactions involving organic molecule. e.g. ZSM-5. Ion exchanger is used extensively in small water system.
