We know that, in the study of photoelectric effect, light energy is considered in the form of packet. Each packet of this energy is known as photon.
The energy of one photon is given by E=hv where h= Planck's constant and v= frequency of photon.
Hence, the study of photoelectric effect is helpful in understanding quantisation of energy.
