Entropy is the measurement of randomness or disorder of a system. Solids form most orderly system whereas gases have highest randomness and liquids have randomness in between these extremes. Entropy increase with temperature also. When a liquid is converted into solid, entropy or randomness decreases. But when a liquid is converted into gas, entropy or randomness increases.
