Presence of vacant d-orbitals in Si,Ge and Sn, makes the existence of species [SiF6]2−,[GeCl6]2− and [Sn(OH)6]2− feasible. But [SiCl6]2− cannot exist as six large Cl−cannot be accomodated around Si4+ ion due to smaller size of cation.
