Given that, equation of line and hyperbola are
x+y=√2p ........(i)
and 4x2−9y2=36 .....(ii)
Condition of any line to touch any hyperbola is c2=a2m2−b2 .......(iii)
From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we have
m=−1,c=√2p,a2=9,b2=4
∴c2=a2m2−b2
⇒(√2p)2=9×(−1)2−4
⇒2p2=9−4⇒2p2=5
