Given:
The length of the train is 210 metre.
Speed of the man coming from the opposite direction is 5 m/s
Time taken by train is 14 seconds
Formula used:
Speed = Distance/Time
When the objects move in the opposite direction the speeds are added.
And if they move in the same direction the speed is subtracted.
The man can be considered of negligible length
Calculation:
Let speed of train be +V m/s
⇒ Speed of man = 5 m/s
⇒ Time taken by the train to cross the man =

⇒ V + 5 =

⇒ V = 15 – 5
∴ Speed of the train is 10 m/s.
