Given,
The difference of price of two articles is 25% of the cheaper article.
Cost of costly article is Rs. 10 more than that of cheaper article.
Calculation:
Let the cost of cheaper article be Rs. 4x
Cost of costly article = 4x + 10
According to the question
4x+10–4x=4x×

⇒ 10 = x
⇒ x = 10
Cost of cheaper article = 4 × 10 = 40
Cost of costly article = 40 + 10 = 50
∴ Sum of cost of both articles = 50 + 40 = 90
