The First Battle of Panipat, on 21 April 1526, was foughtbetween the invading forces of Babur and the LodiEmpire. It took place in north India and marked thebeginning of the Mughal Empire. This was one of theearliest battles involving gunpowder firearms and fieldartillery. Ibrahim Lodi died on the field of battle alongwith 15,000 of his troops.
