Solution:

(x-2)

is common factor
So,

x-2=0

x=2

Put in both equations,

(2)^{3}-4(2)^{2}+2 a+b=0

2 a+b=8

.......(1)

(2)^{3}-a \×4+2 b+8=0

-4 a+2 b=-16

.....(2)
After solving (1) and (2),

a=4, b=0
