Solution:

Let

f(x)=2 x^3+3 x^2-k x+5

By remainder theorem, when

f(x)

is divided by

(x-2)

x-2=0, ⇒ x=2

\;\text " the remainder "\;\;=f(2)

\;=2(2)^3+3(2)^2-k(2)+5

\;=16+12-2 k+5

\;=33-2 k

According to question

33-2 k\;=7

2 k\;=26
