are in parallel.

\;{1}/{ {\R}_p}\;=\;{1}/{4}+\;{1}/{6}+\;{1}/{12}

\;=\;{3+2+1}/{12}=\;{6}/{12}=\;{1}/{2}

{\R}_p\;=2 Ω .

Now

2 Ω, R_p

and

5 Ω

are in series.

∵ \;\; {\R}_{ {\AB}}\;=2+ {\R}_p+5=2+2+5

\;=9 Ω .
