For a CE-transistor amplifier, the audio signal voltage across the collector resistance of 2kΩ is 2V. Given the current amplification factor of the transistor is 100 , find the input signal voltage and base current, if the base resistance is 1kΩ.
Solution:
Calculation of collector current Ie base current IB and input signal voltage Vi
Given Re=2kΩ
=2×103Ω
VCE=ICRC
IC=VCERC=22×103A
=10−3A
=1mA
Current gain =ICIB
∴100=10−3IB
∴IB=10−5A
Input signal voltage
Vi=IBRB
=1×10−5×103Ω
=10−2V
