Functions performed by supervisor are:
(i) Helps in maintaining group Unity: A supervisor guides workers and provides support to them. He ensures that workers work with harmony and unity.
(ii) Links the workers and the management: He serves as link of communication between the manager and workers. On one hand, he communicates the information and ideas of the management to workers, on the other hand; he communicates the problems of workers to managers.

(iii) Ensure performance of worker: It is the responsibility of the supervisor to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently and smoothly so that the set targets are met.
