Features of arid soils :
(i) Arid soils range from red to brown in colour and have a sandy texture.
(ii) They are saline in nature. Due to presence of dry climate and high temperature, evaporation occurs at a faster rate. Hence, this soil lacks humus and moisture.
(iii) Arid soils contains a considerable amount of soluble salts and owing to dry climate and lack of vegetation, contains a low percentage of organic matter too.
