How did Mendel interpret his result to show that traits may be dominant or recessive ? Describe briefly.

Mendel conducted breeding experiments on pea plants :
He selected pure breed tall and dwarf plants. cross pollinated these plants. In the generation obtained only tall plants, tallness is the dominant trait.
Then, he produced generation by selfing of hybrids of generation. He found that th of the plants were tall and th were dwarf. The trait which remains hidden in generation plants is the recessive trait.
