In the above diagram :
$\mathrm{CC}=$ Consumption function
$\mathrm{OI}={45}^{\circ }$ degree line showing income drawn from the origin $\mathrm{O}$.
$\mathrm{B}=$ Breakeven point where consumption = income, i.e, a point where there is no saving.
Following are the steps used in drawing saving curve from consumption function :
(i) Take a point $\mathrm{B}$ on consumption curve and from it draw a perpendicular on $\mathrm{X}$-axis intersecting it on point ${\mathit{B}}_1$.
(ii) Take OS on $\mathrm{Y}$-axis of lower part as equal to $\mathit{O}\mathit{C}\left(\mathit{O}\mathit{S}=\mathit{O}\mathit{C}\right)$. This gives point $\mathit{S}$ from where saving curve will start.
(iii)Join points $\mathrm{S}$ and ${\mathrm{B}}_1$ and extend the straight line upward and thus we get saving curve ${\mathrm{SS}}_1$.
In this way, saving curve is diagrammatically drawn from consumption curve.
